Administered in cooperation with fifty outstanding private colleges and universities throughout the United States, the WATSON FELLOWSHIP provides a grant of $25,000 to college graduates of unusual promise for the purpose of engaging in a year of independent study and travel abroad following their graduation.

“We look for extraordinary young men and women of extraordinary promise, individuals who have the personality and drive to become leaders of tomorrow.  The program is designed to fund the most creative dreams of our fellows with a minimum of restrictions. The world is their canvas, and we let them tell us how they want to paint it.”

On this page you will find important information about the selection process at W&L and other frequently asked questions.  However, all interested applicants should first visit the official homepage of the Watson Foundation and pay close attention to the information regarding the Foundation's history.  You will also find the lists of past recipients to be very helpful in understanding the scope of possible projects.  After viewing the Foundation's page, return here for more information about the Watson at W&L.
